It was a great evening of fun and celebration as tutors, learners, volunteers, and community members came together on Wednesday June, 22nd to help us recognise all the hard work and successes of the past year. A special thanks to everyone who shared their stories and helped remind us why literacy is so important to our lives. It was great to hear about all the learners’ accomplishments, such as Dan who started his own business with the skills he developed with the help of his tutor.
The Alfred Dennis learner award was handed out to Amerjit in recognition for her dedication to her learning. A special thanks to Jennine Agnew-Kata of the Literacy Network in so eloquently presenting the award.
A final thanks to Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens in Whitby for hosting the event and providing the great food.
